In 2010, the total amount spent on mobile video advertising was $495 million. By 2015, that number will increase to an estimated $6,976 million. Why? Because 90% of online shoppers admit that videos are helpful for purchase decision-making. And because 48 of the top 50 Internet retailers (a 200% increase from 2011) feature on-site videos. And email marketers gain a 96% click-through rate increase when the email introduction includes a video. Cisco estimates that by 2016, two-thirds of the world’s mobile traffic will be from videos.
