Brand Spotlight: Platinum International and Project Pop Drop
Every now and then we discover a company that truly embodies the spirit of Brand to Human®. Be it through an advertising campaign, a charity event, or a philanthropic enterprise, these rare companies have taken it upon themselves to use their considerable means to provide assistance, awareness, and resources to their communities. It’s always inspiring to witness. Today we want to shine our Brand Spotlight on Project Pop Drop, the philanthropic arm of Platinum International Products and Services.
Homelessness has long been a major social concern in the U.S. With more than half a million people living without shelter—a quarter of them children—it often feels like a full-blown national crisis that’s swept aside in favor of more urgent matters. Though homeless shelters, charity groups, and government programs provide a degree of assistance, it’s often not enough to care for the large number of homeless persons crowding shelters and food banks day in and day out.
Enter Project Pop Drop, a philanthropic organization created and sponsored by Platinum International Products and Services, an office supply company. Once a month, the Pop Drop team provides a surprise donation of food, clothing, medical supplies, beauty and hygiene products, toys, electronics, and more to local missions, community programs, and philanthropic organizations in Los Angeles and Florida.
Founded in 2011 by John and Niki Snyder, Project Pop Drop facilitates more than 90,000 meals a month—all funded by Platinum International’s Pop Drop Platinum Series Toner, an American-made, environmentally friendly product. Their primary focus has been the infamous Skid Row, the epicenter of homelessness in America, with 5000–8000 homeless people residing there.
Project Pop Drop operates directly in Los Angeles and Florida and has also partnered with local and independent businesses to implement Pop Drop events in South Carolina, Tennessee, New Jersey, and Texas. Their motto, “Give and Receive,” has become a mantra for the organization. Every day they are committed to eradicating hunger and homelessness in America through the distribution of their products and services. Their goal is to set a charitable example for the U.S. and to encourage American youth to give back to those less fortunate.
Project Pop Drop is a perfect example of an ethics-driven company. The philanthropic company uses its means for good. They aren’t forced to do it. They don’t have to do it. They do it because it’s the right thing to do, and because they’re able. And just as we believe it should, those efforts are starting to pay off for parent company Platinum International. Spotlights on Project Pop Drop and their events have appeared on air and in print on ABC, People Magazine, CNBC, and dozens of other publications and news networks, creating brand awareness and advocacy. Cause marketing is one of the best ways to win the trust of your audience. It’s also one of the best ways for companies to give back to their communities. Consumers today want to leave their mark on society, and if the success of Project Pop Drop is any indication, they can do it by supporting a brand that makes a real difference in the world.
We invite you to get your own company involved! Visit Platinum International’s website and place an order. What an easy way to do great good, simply by purchasing the ink and toner your company already uses on a regular basis. If you’re interested in partnering with Project Pop Drop for your own Pop Drop event, get in touch with them at here or talk to a representative directly at (877) 339-0174.
They will pay for all the food by sending you a Costco Gift Card pre-loaded with a sizable amount of funds. You can also organize a Food, Clothing, and Toiletry Drive at your business to obtain even more donations.
