Account/Project Manager

The Account / Project Manager is a client and agency liaison, developing and maintaining favorable relationships with existing clients in order to increase revenue. This role ensures that agency services consistently meet client needs. Involved from project start through completion, this individual is responsible for initiating proposals and project plans, then guiding the project through development and creative. An effective problem-solver on a day-to-day basis, s/he must be adept at anticipating problems and recognizing opportunities.

The Account / Project Manager sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors and summarizes progress of projects; additionally, the individual is responsible for providing sales quotations as well as sustaining and renewing client contracts. This role requires a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty and 3+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. All Account / Project Managers must be familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. This individual relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Account / Project Managers report to the Creative Director.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary client contact for assigned projects, developing relationships with clients and working closely with them to learn their business and communication needs
  • Knows all there is to know about the clients’ products and/or services, markets and consumers
  • Works with agency colleagues to devise solutions that meet clients’ briefs and budgets
  • Works with agency colleagues to develop and implement strategic project plans
  • Presents solutions to clients
  • Understands clients’ marketing objectives in terms of sales, market-share, and competitor products/services
  • Has a thorough understanding of the planning, creative, and production processes.
  • Proactively gathers the necessary information to plan and implement each client project
  • Prepares creative briefs
  • Briefs agency colleagues and assists with the formulation of client strategies
  • Provides timely issuance of all documentation: proposals, project initiations, creative briefs, estimates, timelines, meeting summaries, status and budget reports
  • Manages time and financial resources to ensure client projects are on time and on budget
  • Maintains ongoing accounting status reports for clients and ensures invoices are paid in a timely manner
  • Presents creative work to clients for approval or modification
  • Handles budgets, manages campaign costs, and directs client invoicing
  • Generates client reports
  • Monitors the effectiveness of agency solutions/campaigns/etc. and oversees the various production stages for assignments/projects/etc.
  • Undertakes administrative tasks
  • Arranges and attends meetings
  • Creates pitches, along with pitch team, to obtain additional business with current clients for the agency
